The Cannabis Act took effect on 17 October 2018. Cannabis incidents before and after that date are not the same offence. Cannabis incidents fell sharply after that date. Other drug incidents did not. The drop in the total is that break, not other drugs going away.
Calgary uses the provincial dashboard's municipality figures for all substances, including alcohol. Counts from 2020 onward remain provisional.
