A change in reporting. LAPD moved to NIBRS in March 2024. Assault, burglary and robbery change basis in 2024; auto theft and grand theft use legacy data through 2024 and NIBRS from 2025. Values across that break are not directly comparable. 2020 Census population, assigned from block groups whose internal point falls in this council. Rates for every year use this fixed denominator.
